Top Ten Tuesday:  Unread Books on My Shelves I Want to Read Soon

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is Unread Books on My Shelves I Want to Read Soon (Bonus points if you tell us how long it’s been sitting on your shelf waiting for you.) There are 9 books that weigh on me because I haven’t got to them yet – so I didn’t go ten, instead I left it at 9

the Crescent City Series

(aka the “don’t judge me” series 😂)

  • House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas (book 1 of the Crescent City series)
    • it came out March 3, 2020 and I’ve had it since April 10, 2020
  • House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas (book 2 of the Crescent City series_
    • it came out Feb 15, 2022 and I’ve had it since March 23, 2022
  • House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Maas (book 3 of the Crescent City series)
    • it came out January 30, 2024 and I’ve had it since February 7, 2024

NetGalley Shelf Backlist

  • The Perfect Guy Doesn’t Exist by Sophie Gonzales
    • it came out March 26, 2024 but I’ve had it since October 21, 2023
  • Lost Man’s Lane by Scott Carson
    • it came out March 26, 2024 but I’ve had it since Oct 3, 2023
  • The Sleepwalkers by Scarlett Thomas
    • it came out April 9, 2024 but I’ve had it since Oct 26, 2023
  • Maya’s Laws of Love by Alina Khawaja

Duologies that I haven’t read #2 yet

  • Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo
    • I’ve had since January 10, 2023

  1. I have a backlog of Netgalley books too. I’m just glad I downloaded them before they were archived.

  2. A problem us bibliophiles have, yes, I have a huge backlist that I will probably never clear. I hope you get to these sometime in the near future and that you enjoy them all, Tessa.

  3. Both books on your duologies list are waiting for me. I’m kind of glad to know you have older books on your NetGalley shelf – I thought it was only me, lol.

  4. I am slightly envious of your ability to read Crescent City for the first time, all at once. I was trying to do that, and then my work bestie convinced me to go ahead and read them (in relation to my ACOTAR reread), so I had a slightly agonizing wait to find out what the heck happened.

  5. I haven’t read the Crescent City books although I have the first two on my shelf already. It sounds like such a wild ride and I’m kind of debating putting off reading it until the books are all out (might end up waiting forever, but still)… 😂 Ruthless Vows was great. I love that duology. I hope you enjoy these books whenever you get to them, Tessa!

  7. I have Hell Bent on my Top Ten today as well, I only just got it, but I read the first one last year and have meant to read this second part, I just keep never getting to it.

  8. The “don’t judge me” series pls 😂😭 I’ve personally given up on Sarah J Maas, but no judgement here. I get why her books are so addictive. 😂

But please read Ruthless Vows!! I liked Divine Rivals, but for some reason, I enjoyed book #2 even more. The angst was angsting and I loved that for me. ❤

  9. The Crescent City series is excellent. I’ve read the first six in the Zodiac Academy series and need to get back to it soon. There are four to go, but each one is around 5-6 hundred pages, so I haven’t tackled them yet. Great reads though!

  11. Oh my gosh, there’s Sarah Maas again with those amazing covers. By the time I try her books there are going to be a hundred of them. Lol. They look so good, but I’m intimidated by the commitment. I hope you enjoy them – that may give me the kick in the pants I need. 🙂
