This week has been one of cleaning up and cleaning out. At work, we had two fundraisers and one celebration for the community pretty close together. So, that meant our office had become a dumping ground for signage and other supplies left over from the events. We got it all cleaned up this week and put away in the storage closet. I can stop feeling claustrophobic at my desk now. Yay!
I’ve also been working on cleaning up my ARC books and getting things back in order. That is still a work in progress. It looks like I have 42 books to read before the end of summer (Labor Day) 😳
My oldest daughter dropped her cat off, yesterday, on her way to Disney World. Disney World during the summer is a lesson in heat endurance. But then she interned at Disney a few summers ago, so she knows that. That means we have four cats running around the house and antagonizing each other for the week. That’s always fun.
How was your week?

There is so much streaming now that I want to watch. I started with Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on Disney+ and Evil, season 1 on Paramount +.
The Doctor Strange movie was… well… strange (pun intended). I liked it. The Scarlet Witch played a much different role than she did in any other movie she was in, but she’s in a bad place and has been since Avengers: Endgame. I enjoyed the movie. My husband didn’t really. I could tell by the way he started interrupting the movie to say silly things.
I saw Evil promos when it first came out but it looked too scary for me. Yet, 3 seasons in, I decided we would give season 1 a try. I watched the first two episodes at night right before bed and had nightmares about George (if you’ve watched it, you might remember who I’m talking about.) So, I started binge watching it during the day and that went much better. It’s very interesting and my husband and I both agree on that.

Four cats in one home – One of our cats (Nipper) always gets a little jittery in summer, jumping at shadows and behaving very strangely. This year we also have the old cat we adopted and Nipper is apparently terrified to walk near him. Instead he will jump onto furniture, shelves and radiators to sneak past.

Oops I was adding Four cats in one home – things must get crazy at times. Somehow I posted my comment unfinished 😂
I hope you get all those arcs read too

Lol. I’ve done that before. And they do!
I’ll definitely do my best to read them all.

Awww…poor Nipper. Cats are so interesting.

I need to watch Dr. Strange. Not quite sure when that is going to happen, however.
Good luck with your reading project.

Ooh four cats all together, how’s it been going so far?? Take My Husband sounds super intruiguing, I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts!!

The two girl cats don’t like one another and the younger of the two likes to antagonize the older one even more because of it. The two boys are more easy going.

42 books 😶 My thoughts are with you! I’ve over requested on NG so now have to read them quick so you’re not alone!!!

I’ve recently stopped requesting on NetGalley except for rare books. Right now, the Fall has lots of holes in it and I’m very happy about that because you and I both know that I have tons of books I’ve bought that I really want to read.

Yes it’s always busy then! I’ve heard that November this year is going to be really busy as well as September due to a lot of books that were pushed back!

Well done for dealing with all that clearing up at work, the heat and four cats in your home! My week in contrast has been a good, quiet week, although it has been very warm and humid (by English standards anyway 😅).
Take care, happy reading and good luck with all those ARCs! 🙏🤞🙂

I need it! Quiet weeks are always welcome.

I watched Doctor Strange the other night on Disney Plus. It was really good. Sounds like you have a whole house of cats. We aren’t cat sitting, but going round to feed my daughter’s cats while she is visiting her boyfriend’s family. I would love a cat, but our dog wasn’t brought up with them, so we can’t really take that chance. Although, what I know about cats, they tend to rule over dogs.

That they do! I wish my daughter lived close enough where her cat could stay home and we just go feed her. That would be so much easier.

42 books seem way too many for me. I hope you have the mojo to work on them. And I enjoyed Dr Strange as well. Have a great week ahead.

Have fun with all those cats. We had three over Christmas and I think it traumatised my own cat for life!!!1 I haven’t read any Jeff Wheeler for ages and obviously need to catch up with his latest books.

I’m looking forward to reading this latest Jeff Wheeler series. I always enjoy his books.
And the oldest of our two cats is always traumatized when my daughters cats are here. Poor thing!

It’s nice to have a clean up at work. I remember that feeling 😂 (I’ve not been working since having my son).
They look like good books.
I need to see some more Marvel films, but with my son taking up the day time and my reading taking up the night there isn’t the time 😂
Have a great week ahead!

It’s always tough when your kids are so young. Then it gets kind of weird as they get older and you find yourself with time to do or watch something you want. But eventually you get used to it again.

Yeah. When he starts school in September it will be weird!

You got rid of the even stuff to make room for a cat. Lol. Sounds like you have a full house either way. 🙂 Thanks for the recommendation of Evil. My husband just found it on Prime. 🙂 And great book haul, Tessa. You have 42 books to read by Labor Day. Wow. Happy Reading!

I look forward to hearing what you think of Evil. I’m still watching it during the day. No more George nightmares for me!

Ha ha. I’m starting to write these down so I can remember to catch up on them. We have a few going right now, but we have to wait the week between episodes. It’s fun to have some to binge too. 🙂

When my parents in law are away, they always leave their little Maltese with us and then it’s chaos in this house!! Elza of course doesn’t like her very much…
Once again, you have the greatest selection of books for a book haul! 42 books to read before end of summer…!! God luck to you!!
Have a good week Tessa and take care!

Sorry you feel so claustrophobic at your desk. I hope it get cleaned up soon. Good luck on reading 42 books by the end of the summer. I hope you’re a fast reader, lol. I couldn’t do it. I’m such a slow reader. Have fun with all the cats.

With Theo the orange tabby who often finds his way in my pictures – yes. But our oldest cat, who is a female Maine Coon, has lots of anxieties and my daughter’s female cat likes to antagonize her because of it.

I hope the cats settle down and get along within a few days. And that whatever office cleanup is needed, gets done. I’d like to see a bunch of Marvel movies and shows, but we’ve been holding off on getting Disney+. We did donate to our local PBS station a few weeks ago, so we could add PBS Passport to our streaming services, though. It was fun to watch Around the World in 80 Days, and I’m looking forward to starting All Creatures Great and Small.
Have a good week, and enjoy your new books!

Wow, that’s a lot of cats! I’m not sure how my Raven would do if suddenly finding herself with a housemate. It would be interesting for sure.
It’s been a wall-to-wall week for me, but we finally got our pool open, and I managed two days of poolside reading over the weekend. Pure bliss!

Wow, 1 cat would be too many for me. I hope they all get along this week. I love when I get a task finished, like putting things away, so I know that must feel good. Good luck with your ARCs, Tessa. I won’t even count mine, I will just do what I can. Have a great week.

So many cats! I’ve seen a few Sunday posts mentioning cats now and it’s making me want a cuddle with a cat and I’ve never been a cat person?! 😂 I also watched Doctor Strange and I mean, it wasn’t as bad as I’d been told it’d be but it has been a while since I’ve watched a Marvel movie. I feel like it was much darker than most of the previous movies though! I hope you have a great week ahead 🙂

It was very dark. Maybe that’s what my husband wasn’t taking to. Marvel has been getting a bit more DC lately with the darkness.
