My Reading Week

I was going to start my week with These Feathered Flames, but I decided that a romcom would probably be a better choice while my family is visiting. A romcom is perfect for when you can’t focus and Maggie Finds Her Muse was just the right fit. I enjoyed it a lot. It has a very detailed look at the writing process throughout and it’s very interesting to see that insight fictionalized.

I’ve started The Feathered Flames and it’s very interesting. It’s a real telling of a folktale and the author did a good job of keeping that folktale feel with the writing style. I can’t wait to get further into the story as I’ve mostly just met the characters at this point.

I also can’t wait to read The Perfect Daughter. I think it looks so good, but then you all know how I love a psychological thriller, and the counselor in me can’t wait to delve further into multiple personalities disorder. It’s such a fascinating mental disorder that I’ve only read case studies about, so a fictionalized portrayal intrigues me.

    Wow, those are three very different reads. The Perfect Daughter sounds a bit too heavy for me but I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on it.

      St. Martins Press often times has heavier reads in their thrillers but I’ve also read so just right ones published by them. Hoping this is a “just right” one! 🙂

    Hello, Tessa. I fancy The Perfect Daughter from the above list. I’m currently reading Book 5 of Game of Thrones, and The Mis-Education Years by Ross O’Carroll-Kelly, which really does make you laugh out loud. I have it on my kindle. And I intend to re-read The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie next.

      Yeah, even being focused, I feel like I’m getting lost in the minutiae of the story at times. But it still seems like it’s going to be a fascinating tale.
