Do you spend your lunchtime reading?  Plus, Weekly Updates #BookBloggerHop #bookish #discussionpost

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book-related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blogs.

Do you spend your lunchtime reading?

(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

I always come home for lunch (and stay home). Being gluten free, it is much easier that way. So it’s not unusual for me to be reading while I’m eating and after for a bit. I basically read during any and all downtime.

Do you spend your lunchtime reading?

Do you know that Easter is this Sunday? Well, when I left work Wednesday and the receptionist told me to have a wonderful holiday. I immediately replied, “holiday?” (truly confused) I had totally forgotten about Easter. It’s just not sticking in my brain this year. I’m typing this on Thursday and I barely have any basket stuff – even though my girls are young adults, they still like an Easter basket in the morning. I’m not sure where my head is at. Perhaps is just too stuffy from spring allergens. 🤧

This week has been a bit trying with Twitter and WordPress. My Twitter account disconnected and I couldn’t get it to reconnect (it’s back now 🤞). So, I had an epiphany – schedule my Twitter post on Hootsuite. Well, that was all fine and good but it was late and my poor Twitter post ended up being embarrassingly full of obvious typos. 🤦🏻‍♀️. I hope it stays connected because that system works for me.

And to add to my week, WordPress’ Reader feed has been doing weird things with your posts. As I go to click on them to read them, the post jumps away and basically I find myself chasing posts around my Reader feed. Craziness!

How was your week? Hopefully less frustrating than mine.

  1. I always mean to read at lunch but get caught up with work bits instead 😂 I’ve had technical issues with internet this week, so maybe it’s just one of them weeks. Hope you get sorted for Easter & have a lovely weekend 😊

  2. Happy Wednesday! I only work 6 hours so don’t get a lunch so I don’t read. But I listen to audiobooks at work (when I don’t have meetings) so get my daily dose 🤣

  3. I’m sorry to heat that Social Media has been doing some weird and aggravating things. I hope it settles down. When I was working, I didn’t usually get a lunch (as a school administrator, I ate on the fly), but now being retired, I read all the time. Have a great weekend, Tessa and enjoy your Easter weekend with family. I am just doing an Easter Egg hunt with my grandkids, they already have lots of spring stuff. 🐰

  4. Easter sneaked up on me, too! But, last night my hubby asked me to order a lamb for this Sunday…for our Easter meal. It was always a big holiday for his family.

I’m retired now so am always at home. When I was working, though, it was rare for me to read as I either worked through lunch or had companions. Now, I actually turn off my headphones and watch something on TV while eating. Back to my audiobook when I’m done😏

  5. WordPress has been super wonky for me too.
And yes, I totally forgot about Easter and I feel bad because my sister does themed Easter meals. But I was able to get my (19 y/o daughter) things for a basket and shop to help my sis for our dinner. The year seems to be going too fast.

  7. I also come home for lunch, but when I worked at another office I always read during lunch. Any time I can sneak in reading I do it. My Twitter was also disconnected this week – think it was Tuesday maybe? But then it was back the next day. Have a wonderful weekend with your girls, Tessa!

  8. I don’t read while eating. I somehow can’t do that so I’m always finishing my lunch fast and then picking up book again. But ever since my kid I can’t read anyway until she takes afternoon nap or at night as once I finish my lunch/dinner my time goes in feeding her (she still isn’t eating independently!) and then some other chores.

My reader was acting weird in my phone and tab last week. When I open the post in the browser to share it to social media somehow it opened the previous post than the current one. But it seem to be rectified now.
