I loved Mazey Edding’s last book, Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake, so you can imagine how much I’ve been looking forward to The Plus One. Edding’s stories are laugh-out-loud funny, outrageously shocking, and have some of the most delightfully developed characters. I am starting this book today!

What starts out as a fake wedding date turns into something these childhood enemies never expected in The Plus One, a sparkling romantic comedy by Mazey Eddings. She’s not looking to fix him. She’s looking to love him, if he’ll let her in. Some facts are indisputable. The sun rises in the east, sets in the west. Gravity exists. Indira doesn’t like Jude. Jude doesn’t like Indira. But what happens when these childhood enemies find the only thing they can rely on is each other? On paper, Indira has everything together. An amazing job, a boyfriend, and a car. What more could a late twenty-something ask for? But when she walks in on her boyfriend in an amorous embrace with a stranger, that perfect on paper image goes up in flames. Jude has nothing together. A doctor that’s spent the last three years traveling the world to treat emergencies and humanitarian crises, a quick trip home for his best friend’s wedding has him struggling to readjust. Thrust into an elaborate (and ridiculously drawn out) wedding event that’s stressing Jude beyond belief and has Indira seeing her ex and his new girlfriend far more frequently than any human should endure, the duo strike a bargain to be each other’s fake dates to this wedding from hell. The only problem is, their forced proximity and fake displays of affection are starting to feel a bit…real, and both are left grappling with the idea that a situation that couldn’t be worse, is made a little better with the other around.

Hotel of Secrets by Diana Biller is such a cool story. It’s a mashup of genres and set in Victorian Vienna. It’s laugh out loud funny with plenty of thrills, and a romance that stands convention on its ear. I had fun reading this one.

He disapproves of all of it! But his disapproval is tested as he slowly falls deeper into the chaos – and as his attraction to said hotelkeeper grows.

The Soulmate is another book I’ve been looking forward to for months. I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this thriller. And you all know how much I love a good thriller!

    All of these from one week – wow! The Soulmate catches my attention. And I love anything involving the ocean, so the cover is a winner also.

    The Soulmate and The Plus One are both coming up for me as well, Tessa. I really like the sound of A Fatal Illusion. I hope you enjoy all these books. It looks like Berkley is really coming through for you.

      I applied for Berkeley’s Influencer program on a lark and they invited me into it much to my surprise. Now I get my selection of their NetGalley books and they send me a few physical books every month. Crazy!
