The Lady Sherlock series – how did I not know about this series? It’s so totally in my reading wheelhouse! The NetGalley ARC of another book that I was reading just wasn’t working out yesterday and then my mail arrived with 3…yes, 3…physical books from Berkley/Penguin Random House and A Tempest at Sea was one of those books. I had to start it immediately – I’m sure you all would agree. Charlotte Holmes’ alter ego is Sherlock Holmes but it’s the late 1800s so nobody realizes that Sherlock Holmes could be and, in fact, is a woman!!!!

I loved Vera Wang’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers – it’s funny, has a good mystery, and is even poignant as you start to understand what’s behind everyone’s actions – even Vera’s. Basically, it has it all and it’s even relatively fast-paced.

Missing Clarissa by Ripley Jones sounds like my kind of thriller, and the reviews have been largely good. I’m also liking that it’s only 250 pages.

    I just added Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers to my Want to Read Shelf. I am reading The Sister Effect by Susan Mallery and enjoying it.

    I have a few books in the Lady Sherlock series sitting on my shelf. I really need to start them.

    I just finished reading Monster by Frank Peretti. Couldn’t put it down. It’s now my #1 read so far this year!

    Vera Wong appeals to me, Tessa. I like books with little old lady heroines. 🙂 I’m reading Princess of Shadows (which you or Teri recommended). Lots of politics at the beginning, but then it picks up nicely!) I’m enjoying it.

      Princess of Shadows must have been Teri. I don’t think I’ve read that one, though her and I read a lot of the same books. Glad you’re enjoying it!

    Vera Wong is one I haven’t seen before. Is this connected to the Aunties? I liked the first book but the second book got so many bad reviews and I haven’t read it yet- I own it though. lol. But this one sounds good!
