I have a lot of romcoms on my schedule, and I figured out it’s probably because February is such a big romcom reading month. I don’t mind, though. So far, they all have been very good. I’m just starting The Second You’re Single by Cara Tanamachi, so I’m not sure yet whether it will be very good too, but I am hopeful. It definitely sounds good.
Genre: RomCom
Pages: 285 pages
Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin
Publication Date: January 31, 2023

I have had Ninth House since it first came out back in 2019, so when the IG book club I’m in chose it for this month, I decided to read it very slowly (2 chapters per day), so I could fit it in with my full ARC schedule. It has such an incredibly complex mystery and plenty of thrills, so you can imagine I liked it a lot. It is a great mash-up of my two favorite genres – fantasy and thriller. Book 2 just came out, and I may do a slow read of it next month.
- Genre: Fantasy (Dark Academia)
- Pages: 476 pages
- Publisher: Flatiron Books
- Publication Date: October 8, 2019

Wildblood sounds very good. Dark Fantasy usually has a pretty big thriller plot, and that’s what I’m hoping with this one. I love the mashup of fantasy and thriller.
- Genre: Dark Fantasy
- Pages: 327 pages

What are you reading? Do you love it?

I do love a romance in between the thrillers, my next read is a romance 😊 Hope enjoy your next reads 😊

It’s the perfect palette cleanser for the darkness of thrillers. I have more than usual right now but I have had a lot of thrillers on my plate the last few months, so I’m not complaining 😊

I really enjoyed Ninth House but I can’t bear to order Hell Bent because that rabbit is creepy! I’ve ordered the Illumicrate set as it’s different so I’m waiting for that!!!

I’ve been looking at the spine of my copy and didn’t even notice the rabbit. Eewwww…the cover is coming off!

It’s horrible isn’t it! I’m sure it has relevance to the story but it’s not for me at all!!!

The combination of fantasy and thriller sounds like an interesting mashup.

I love that mashup. Mostly that’s what makes dark fantasy dark but I think it makes it extra good ❤️

I have a lot of romcoms to read too. I didn’t realize that February is such a big romcom month but it makes sense now due to valentines day.

I saw a post that said something like “do you have your romcoms lined up for Feb yet?” And it was a total aha moment 😊

I really enjoyed it. It has a bit of a slow start but once it gets going – look out! 😊

I’m still reading ”It’s Her Fault”. The title matches what is inside, about blame, but mostly the mother. For either working, or having a nanny, or not having more children. I am almost half way through and can’t wait to the end to see who was responsible for the kidnapping.

I hope the ending is as good as its been so far. It sounds like it has just that bit of relatability that really allows you to sink your teeth in it. I think all moms everywhere understand mom guilt.

We go to work, and need to earn money, but that means we are not there with our children.

Wildblood is on my NG shelf, too. I’m excited to read Hellbent, but can’t say I’m crazy about the cover.

The cover is totally eeewwww…I hadn’t really looked at before I stood it up and then put it away. Now I have removed it. 😂

I got Ninth House a few months ago. Can’t wait to read it at some point! I’m currently reading The Lost Ticket by Freya Sampson. I have about 200 pages or so to go until I finish reading it, but really great book so far.
