I’ve been looking forward to reading Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun ever since I was granted the ARC and I’m finally enjoying it. It’s so wonderful being back in this world with Finlay and Vero and all the craziness that comes their way.
Genre: Thriller mixed with humor (soft-boiled mystery)
Pages: 301 pages
Publisher: Minotaur books (St. Martin’s Press)
Publication Date: January 31, 2023

The Minuscule Mansion of Myra Malone by Audrey Burgess is one of the physical book ARCs that Berkley sent me last month. It intrigued me in so many ways – the miniatures, the magical aspects, and the overall story. And it did not disappoint. This story is so unique that I have no idea what I will say to do it justice in my review.
- Genre: Woman’s Fiction with Magical Realism
- Pages: 348 pages
- Publisher: Berkley
- Publication Date: January 24, 2023

Best Served Hot by Amanda Elliot looks like a cute romantic comedy, and I do love my romcoms. I’m not sure which book I will read first: The Drift by CJ Tudor or this one. I might read The Drift first and then read this book as a way to break up the intensity I know I will experience with The Drift. I’ve heard lots of positive things about both of them, so I don’t think I can go wrong either way.

- Publisher: Berkley Romance

Good idea reading the romcom after The Drift, a nice way to relax afterwards!

You have some fun reading ahead, Tessa. I was most attracted to The Drift (the darkest of the set, as usual). I hope it ends up being a great thriller. I’m amazed at how illustrated (cartoon) covers seem to be the rage these days. They aren’t my favorite, but they seem incredibly popular. Just couldn’t resist tossing that out there as I’ve seen them everywhere this morning. Happy Reading!

I think they are typically used for books that have a significant amount of humor in them. I don’t mind them but there’s nothing like a gorgeous fantasy cover, is there? 😊

Ha ha. Yes! My bias is showing. I love fantasy covers.

I adored the Minuscule Mansion! And Finlay Donovan. I have an ARC for Best Served Hot and should be getting to that one soon.

I don’t think our reading has ever been so similar. I guess we are both expanding out 😊

It’s Her Fault, about a four year old boy, who goes missing. It focusses on three women, each feeling to blame. I haven’t finished the book. It is a good read.

Oooh, I didn’t really care for The Chalk Man, but The Drift sounds great. I’m sure that will end up on my TBR!

I didn’t read The Chalk Man but I do agree about The Drift. I’ve heard good things too.
