The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

What was the first book you read this year?
(Submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer))

Isn’t that a gorgeous cover? I had Son of the Poison Rose in my WWW post this week as Just Read – it was my first book of 2023.
What was the first book you read this year?

Ahh that cover is gorgeous! The real question is, does it live up to its cover? 😆 The first book I’m reading this year is called See You Yesterday by Rachel Lynn Solomon! It’s a YA about a girl who gets stuck in a timeloop on her first day of freshman year of college – and how she copes!

Oh, what a nightmare to be stuck in your first day of college over and over again. It’s such an awkward point in time. Hope your enjoying it!

Ooooh, I didn’t realise that there was another Kagen novel already. That cover and the photo are both so lovely.

The House in the Pines, a psychological thriller. Bet you weren’t expecting that, lol.

Not at all but that’s great. I look forward to hearing more about it.

That cover is beautiful! Don’t you love it that so many authors/publishers are paying more attention to them these days?
I started the year off with The Academy by Robert Dugoni, which set the tone for my reading enjoyment throughout the year. That series turned out to be one of my favorites (Tracy Crosswhite).

love that cover. I’m still reding my first book of the year and it’s taking longer to finish than I expected. It’s more dues to lack of time and so many other things to do in life.

I know about that. Hope you’re enjoying it!

Mine was Never Have I Ever.
It’s always interesting to see how those first reads hold up as the year progresses!

The first one I finished was How High We go in the Dark. Starting off the year with a 5 Star 🙂 Although some of it is super emotional and hard to read!

This is a gorgeous cover and from the recent review you posted for it, it seems like a great read too! My first read of 2023 was the second book in the Truly Devious series, The Vanishing Stair. I really enjoyed it!
