Which time of day do you prefer to read: morning, afternoon, or evening?  | #BookBloggerHop #bookish #discussionpost

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Which time of day do you prefer to read: morning, afternoon, or evening?

(Submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer))

I can focus better first thing in the morning, so that is a good time for me to read. Unfortunately there’s a lot of other stuff that needs to happen on weekday mornings. So during the week, mornings aren’t very practical.

Nighttime I try to spend time with my family and if I read before bed, there’s always a chance I won’t go to sleep when I need to. So, that makes nights too risky.

So when is it just right? Late afternoon and early evening seems to be the best time for me to read. My husband likes to cook dinner, so I can read up until dinner is ready.

  1. Short answer: any time I can 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Since I changed jobs I have more time in the mornings and I do enjoy getting a few chapters in before heading to work. One reading habit I hardly ever break is listening to an audiobook in bed to help me wind down and fall asleep.

  2. I love to read at any time but enjoy it most in the evening when I know that I don’t have anything else that has to be done.

  3. Mornings are best for me as that’s when I do my daily walk and put my headphones on. Sometimes I wake up ridiculously early and will read my eBook. Either way, the mornings are my most ideal time.

  4. I’m with you. I prefer mornings- it seems like I read best in the mornings. But boy are mornings busy these days!

  5. I do most of my reading throughout the day. Now that I’m retired, and don’t have a fixed schedule, I just read when I have time.

  6. I mostly read in the evening, while having a bath. It is a quiet space, surrounded by bubbles, and I can read in peace without anyone disturbing my peace.

  7. I prefer to read at all times of the day but I end up doing most of my reading at night because of work and other things that usually have me busy during the day. 😂 I quite enjoy capping off my day with a book in bed though, so I can’t really complain, lol!

  8. I read anytime, but if I have things to do, it is usually in the late morning or afternoon, so I would say first thing in the morning or in the evenings are when I read the most.
