We had a very nice Thanksgiving with lots of good food. 😋. My youngest made a Paul Hollywood brownie cheesecake recipe that we converted to gluten-free. It came out pretty good, though we weren’t particularly fond of having a thin layer of cake as the base instead of a graham cracker crust (or in this case, we decided a crust make with gf Oreos crumbled – just like you would would Graham crackers.).
I made a dent in my Christmas shopping this week as well. Still a bit more to do but hopefully I’ll get it done this week. I’m not a Black Friday shopper but I found lots of good sales online.
So, that was my week – how was yours?

A quiet week with only one book haul book but I think it will be a good one. I’ve enjoyed this author’s stories in the past so I’m looking forward to reading this new one.

We are watching holiday specials on Disney+ and I’m loving it! This week it’s Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and The Santa Clauses.

It sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with all your family home, Tessa. I have most of my Christmas preparations complete (decorating, presents) so will get to enjoy the season much more than in the past. I have been watching Hallmark movies, but I did watch Christmas Vacation for the first time in years! I also have the Kelly Armstrong book and look forward to it. Have a wonderful week.

We watch Christmas Vacation every year. I don’t know why we never get tired of it.

Glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving that dessert sounds good. My husband’s diet is dairy free so i know what it’s like converting recipes.

I don’t really Christmas shop anymore. My siblings and I agreed years ago to stop buying each other gifts and last year was the last year for exchanging gifts with my kids/wives who are 38 and 40. We all agreed that we’d rather spend the day together eating and playing games than opening gifts. We’re all at the point that we don’t really “need” anything and buy things for ourselves, so. …. I know it sounds so boring, but it’s practical and suits us all beautifully. But I still decorate because I love the lights and my Santa collection and it all makes me happy. And on books: I also have Armstrong’s ARC of that book and can’t wait to read it. I love the Rockton series and this is the new direction for those characters. Can’t wait.
Have a great week!

I’m interested in the Personal Assistant. We spent Thanksgiving at home as we didn’t want to pass on our coughs to our elderly and compromised relatives at dinner! Hopefully Christmas will be better. Have fun reading this week.

I’m trying to finish quickly because of that crazy Disney trip. I should never have let my oldest talk me into such craziness.

I’m always impressed with people who start (or even finish) their Christmas shopping in November. I tend to be a last minute shopper. Internet shopping has made life a lot easier, though.

I don’t know what I did before internet shopping became so convenient.

I’m glad you had a peaceful Thanksgiving, Tessa. And good for you for getting some shopping done! I tend to wait until the last minute, but it’s so hard to shop for my picky family. Lol. Even the nine-year-old is very specific about what he wants. What happened to the old days when everyone got new pajamas from grammy? Have a great start to December and Happy Reading.

I think you should go back to that ☺️. My girls miss being surprised by their new Christmas pj’s that I always laid out on their bed Christmas Eve. Until I realized they had stop growing and we all had way too many Xmas pj’s and stopped (with a warning beforehand, of course.)

Ha ha ha. What fun. I did get PJ’s for the grandboy. 😀 He’s still growing, so we have some years to go. He also wanted a laptop. Oh, my.
