The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Do you suggest new authors to your readers?

YES!!! End of post 😂🤣😂
One of the things I love most about NetGalley is how many new to me authors and debut authors I get to try. Most months are full of them. I haven’t done a formal count, but I bet most months only have reads from 1 or 2 authors I have read before. I know when I’ve counted particular months that has definitely been the case.
And, of course, I go on to review those books and recommend them to y’all. I especially love drawing attention to particularly good debut authors. It’s so fun finding a pearl in a pile of oysters.

You have recommended several great authors to me, Tessa! And thanks for that!

You are definitely welcome and the same back at you! It’s such a great feeling to discover those authors and share them.

Yes I do, I don’t get to read all of the ones I share but I do share a lot 😊

I love your post dedicated to debuts every week. That’s a great way to point out the new authors.

Yeah! End of comment, too😏
Seriously, I especially love to share new Indie authors. They remain close to my heart and my list is rather long. Most readers already know about the more well know writers but look to us to discover new ones and standout reading experiences. It’s the perfect platform.

That’s what I think to. It’s like the point of book blogging for many of us. It’s like we are all on a treasure hunt together and we have to share our discoveries because who better to understand the significance than fellow treasure hunters.

That’s a resounding “yes” from me, too. I’m not sharing book reviews as often as I did before, but I do hope to be able to get back to it again soon. One of the great joys of being a reader (and reviewer) is discovering new authors, and introducing them to others!

I read this more as debut authors, but whatever the meaning I don’t think you can be a book blogger without sharing authors! Unless they meant posts that are just about the author and not the book?! I don’t do those.

I don’t either. That sounds too much like work 😂

I agree with you and I have the same answer. As much as I love comfort of known favorite authors, I also enjoy reading and recommending new author. It brings freshness to story.

Isn’t that one of the main purposes of our blog. I want to share great books I have read and encourage others to read them. I know some of them will be new authors to people. As of the end of September, I have read books from 122 new to me authors. Most of them came from recommendations from bloggers I follow, including you, Tessa.
