This week was pretty normal. Neither good nor bad – just a week.
I don’t go through reading slumps but I do go through rebellious periods when I just want to ditch the whole ARC and review system and just do whatever I want to do when I want to do it. It has been one of those weeks. I’m rebellious by nature, so that’s really no surprise, and I go through that ever once in a while. What sets it off? Who knows? The way the moon is aligned, boredom, FOMO? Your guess is as good as mine. I’m just anxiously waiting for it to pass.
Next week is going to be interesting. Tuesday, I’m having my four front top teeth all capped at the same time. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while now but money and courage have always gotten the better of me. I was born with teeth that naturally have a very thin enamel and because of that, the pulp in the middle of the tooth can somewhat be seen through the enamel – giving my teeth a yellowish appearance that no amount of brushing or bleaching can fix. So, I’ve never had a true white sparkly smile – ever. It’s really not that obvious because my teeth are on the small side, but still I’ve always wanted a white sparkly smile and now I’m going to get it. Keep your fingers crossed for me because I definitely have every worst case scenario playing through my head right now.
So, that was my week – how was yours?

Our Saturday night family movie this week was Thor: Love and Thunder, which is now on Disney+. (Thank you, Teri for alerting me 😊)

I also like to go by mood when it comes to reading. Hopefully, I wouldn’t need caps for my teeth for another 6 years but i also love the idea of white sparkling teeth.

I can’t wait for them to sparkle😁. Soon I will be able to have more reading flexibility. I really just need to get though this month.

Don’t fight your rebellion, enjoy it! And good luck with the caps, I’m sure you’ll be fine 😘

Congrats on getting a new smile! I also want to ditch the schedule sometimes. I think that’s normal. Solomon’s Crown looks really good. Have a great week!

I’ve wanted a new smile since I was a teenager. I can’t wait and hope that it is everything I wanted. Solomon’s Crown looks very interesting. I think it’s going to be one of those books I either love or hate.

I’m in a slump so am binging House of the Dragon! Hope all goes well with your teeth this week ❤️❤️

You’ll have to tell me how many times you raised an eyebrow over things said or done on House of Dragon. Every week they seem to go a bit further than the last week in that regard.

I have a firm fave in the guard who looks like Prince Caspian from Narnia (can’t remember his name!) but I know somehow they’ll break my heart with that one 🤣

I often feel like ditching my reading list – it’s one reason that I’m trying not to request so many ARCs. When I feel like that, I often binge read old favourites. Hope your teeth capping goes well. I sympathise with wanting a white smile as my teeth have always been a creamy colour. I’m sure they will look brilliant – in every sense of the word.

Exactly – more of a cream color – that’s the perfect description. And, yes, that’s why I am not requesting ARCs. I’ll make a decision about widgets that come through email based on the book description and maybe author but I’ve been good about minimal requesting. Once I get through this month things will get better.

I often go back and forth and wonder if I should just stop and do something else, and then wonder what else would I do if I didn’t blog! Best wishes to you and your new teeth! I have some of the same books, but I’m hoping to get the Mazey Eddings book as I enjoyed her last two.

I couldn’t imagine not blogging either. I’m surprised they didn’t send you the widget for the Eddings book. Maybe, they will soon! 🤞

I’m definitely a mood read. I always have great intentions on what I’m going to read… and then rebel against my own list and pick something else!
Good luck with the dentist!

Thor Love and Thunder might watch that. There is nothing on the television at the moment. Disney also has The only Murder in the Building. It is great and I would recommend you watch it. This time next week you will have a pearly white smile.

I’ll have to look at that for sure! I’ll be smiling big this time next week 😁

I totally get your ambivalence about reading to blog or reading just for private enjoyment – and those ARCs! I love getting them and they always sound so good, but then I get a stack from the library and in my wealth of books, they often get pushed back. I’m trying to look at publish dates when I request and not stack too many in any one month. But….sometimes I just want to read a nice long series or something…… I guess as long as you’re reading, it’s all good! Happy reading (and blogging if you feel like it). Hope you love your new smile!

That’s my conundrum – reading what I want versus what the schedule dictates. I think I’m more rebelling against feeling like I have to get an ARC read near the publication date when maybe I’d prefer to read it later or just read something else now.

I hope you get over your mood soon. The book haul looks good. I want to read The Princess Diaries series.
Have a great week ahead!

I loved the series so when I saw the new book I just had to request it.

I love it when you finish a good book and there is another one!

well I’m not sure what happened there, lol!
I’m trying to cut back on requesting arcs so that I don’t feel so pressurised. If too many bloggers are talking up books on netgalley I do have “slips”, but at the moment my schedule is quite light. The only trouble is, despite having a LOT of unread books on my kindle, I can’t decide what to read!
I’m on a library book streak at the moment and am hoping to keep it up for a little while longer.

I magically made it go away 🪄. I cut way back on my requesting and so after this month, it’ll be much better. In December. most of the month I’ll be able to read what I want to read even!!! That’s my Christmas gift to myself.

Good luck with your dental procedure! That’s so exciting about your smile. 🙂 I’ve always wanted to get braces because my bottom teeth are very jagged and crowded together. It makes flossing hard. Someday I’ll pull the plug.
I was never rebellious growing up, but as an adult, I’m very rebellious. My older sister said I’m going through as a 40+ year old what most people go through in their teens, lol. I hope your rebellious bout subsides soon so you can get back to reading and reviewing.

You’re welcome! Did you enjoy Thor? Honestly, I never imagined screaming goats could be so funny. Good luck with the dentist appointment!

We did enjoy it. I said it looked like a parody before we watched it and I wasn’t too sure about that but we ended up having lots of laughs. My husband was a big fan of the screaming goats. 🤣

Oh, my goodness, I know that rebellious feeling! Give into it for just one book and I guarantee it will be freeing. I did that recently and though I had to double time some reading, it was well worth it. I’m reinvigorated.
Have a wonderful week, Tessa💜
