Hope everyone in the US is enjoying their 3-day weekend!
This week was a pretty good week. I did fine on my own at work. I just had one thing that was handed to me that I wasn’t sure about, so I just asked and then handled it. No problem! Under Armour came and did a special event with the kids in our after school program. They also gave out free sneakers to everyone – staff and kids. Shoes like the running shoes shown below 😍

Steph Curry (American Basketball and the creator of a mini-golf game show on US television) came and donated a basketball court refurbishment and some other things to our after school program, as well. He attended Davidson College (where I live) and used to volunteer at the non-profit I work for while he was a college student. He was in town for his graduation and jersey retirement at the college and is working with Under Armour to give back to communities to create safer places for kids to play.
So, it was a big week at my work place!
My nest is full this weekend, as my oldest daughter returned home to spend the long weekend with us. We have just been relaxing, which is always a good thing.
So, that was my week – how was yours?

Wednesday Books (St. Martin’s Press YA division) stayed busy all week sending out ARC widgets to me, and I was very happy to receive the next Finlay Donovan book from St. Martin’s Press!!!!
Mystery/Thrillers

Young Adult (mix of genres)

I was excited for the new The Rings of Power on Prime, and it did not disappoint in the least. I loved seeing Galadriel and Elrond as younger elves and Durin the dwarf. Galadriel is arguably the main character of this new series and boy is she a strong determined female character!

Glad your work week went well and hoping you enjoy your three day weekend! I’m not in the US, so I believe it’s for Labour Day?? I could be wrong 😆 Ooh I’ve been meaning to read the Finlay Donovan series! Have you read the first one? I’d love to hear your thoughts or read a review!

Yay! You got the new Finlay Donovan book! Congrats on that and having your nest full for the weekend.
I saw the coverage of the Steph Curry event and didn’t know he’d gone to Davidson.
Have a great week, Tessa💜

Oh, Steph Curry is huge here because of it and he really does come back regularly, which is cool.

His cousin was one of my Mom’s dear friends (she’s married to a church deacon who was like a surrogate son to her). She had no idea what a big deal he is. To her he was still her “little cuz” which says a lot about him.

How lovely that you had some exciting and generous people come into your afterschool provision and that you have enjoyed having a full nest. This was my last week of the school’s summer holiday here in the UK, so I spent it on a couple of trips out and then relaxing the rest of the time. During that time I have also been reading The Lady of the Ravens by Joanna Hickson and watching Virgin River (Season 4) and House of the Dragon.
Take care and happy reading. 😊

I went to a fete with my daughter, granddaughter, husband, two dogs. My dog came second in the most handsome section. My daughter’s finish Laphand cross didn’t do so well. I have been watching Devil in Ohio, the actress who played Bones was the lead. I have watched the whole series in one day.

Oh, that’s so cool!!! You must have one good looking pup to love. We thought Devil in Ohio looked interesting. We’ll have to watch it next opportunity.

I enjoyed the first two Finlay Donovan books. I will have to add the third to my wish list! That is so cool that everyone at the school got new shoes! Your new books all sound good. The Witch and the Vampire, in particular. I enjoyed the first episode of the Rings of Power also. I can’t wait to see more. I hope you have a great week!

Cool shoes! I saw in the comments you’ve been also watching The House of Dragon. I’m not really a GOT fan but have watched the 1st episode of HoD and it was interesting. Have a wonderful long weekend!

I think it’s interesting too. I just love dragons so focusing on that aspect of GoT is very cool to me.

So nice that Curry returns to give back to the community. Glad you got to have both girls home for the weekend, Tessa. We had both boys here for lunch yesterday, so that was nice. Even nicer that Son #2 cooked for us!
