It was pretty quiet this week – finally. I had to return to the eye Dr. because I had an appointment the week before that went all kinds of weird, so he had me come back to finish. This return appointment went normal though. My distance vision is still 20/20 but my close up vision got a bit worse – that didn’t surprise me. I use to be able to figure out things like menu’s without my glasses. I can’t do that anymore. Everything in print is a blur until I put my glasses on.
We were supposed to be having our HVAC system replaced on Monday, but that has been delayed because the unit we need is backordered. Our current system still works but we know we are on borrowed time. Hopefully we will be able to get it replaced before our current one does give up.
This week I’m going to be busy with appointments but everything else should be pretty quiet again. 🤞
How was your week?

Random House sent me a few more widgets this week both from Ballantine and Macmillan (St. Martin’s Press) sent me a physical copy of Hester by Laurie Lico Albanese along with a tote bag that matches the cover – I’m very excited about this The Scarlet Letter retelling through Hester Prynne’s perspective. My very first stab at fiction was a short story based on The Scarlet Letter from Hester Prynne’s perspective. My teacher read it to the whole class, he loved it so much. That was the first time I realized that maybe I could write what I loved to read ❤️

We enjoyed The Grey Man on Netflix last night. Chris Evans as the villain was very different. If you like Action Adventure flicks, you will love this one! It’s apparently a book series too by Mark Greaney.

It is good to have a quiet week, I was on my first week of the school holidays, so spent time with my daughter and granddaughter. I’m going on my second virtual sky dive tomorrow. I’ve watched all the Stranger Things episodes.

Have fun virtually sky diving. I’ve seen it and it looks so fun!

Having suffered through a mere few days of 100+F temperatures without AC I have my fingers crossed that yours keeps working until the replacement is ready!
I am also a little jealous of the Terry Brooks arc you have. I’m tempted to buy e-books by some of my favourites authors from the 90s, a lot of the fantasy released these days just doesn’t seem to hit the mark.

I agree about the fantasies. There are so many from the nineties that I have loved too.

They should. The blood test always seems to bring up new and exciting overages or underages but my fingers are crossed that there is nothing serious. 🤞

We watched The Gray Man this weekend too! I thought Ryan Gosling was brilliant, but wasn’t convinced by Chris Evans sadly! 😂 Hope your appointments go well this week and your HVAC keeps going until it can be sorted out!

Hope that A/C unit comes in soon. I’d sure hate to be without it given how hot and humid it’s been. We also watched The Gray Man. I enjoyed it, but hubby gave it a thumbs down. It was fun seeing Evans in a villain role – he had some amusing moments.

Everyone here enjoyed it but then my daughter is a huge Evans fan!
