When Monday starts with it taking 20 minutes to make it the less than a mile to work, you know it’s going to be one of those weeks and it was.
One of the first things I needed to do to get ready for my big May (daughter’s graduation and beach vacation for those who don’t already know) was to get my little feetsies sandal-ready. My mom is one who never even thinks about what her feet look like in the sandals she ALWAYS wears, but I’m not that carefree. A pedicure and painted nails are a must for me.
I discovered last year that I could do a home pedicure that came out even better and with less risk (some of those people who do manicures and pedicures don’t seem to be aware that there is a human attached to those appendages). They have these wonderful little pedicure booties that are filled with stuff to make your feet soft and pretty.
So, I can now check that off of my list. My nails are now pretty and ready to be seen 😍
How was your week?

I didn’t expect to have any books to put here this week, but I do have some. I am particularly excited about Daisy Darker since Alice Feeney quickly rose to an auto buy author for me. I also received a physical ARC copy of Cold Cold Bones by Kathy Reichs this week but I received the digital version last week, so I didn’t see any need in listing it twice.

We decided to try Outer Range this week on Prime. It’s dark, gritty, and a lot of strange. I’m not sure what I think, yet.

Maybe I need to try that home pedicure kit. I’ve got some very rough patches on my feet.
I know what you mean about taking 20 minutes to drive a mile. Sorry that set the tone for your week.

Everyone should pamper their feet. Have a great week!

Sorry to hear it was one of those weeks for you! I have had a super busy week at work and personally too. In the bit of free time I had at home, I read Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens, watched The Ted Bundy Tapes and also gave myself a pedicure! 😊 Take care and happy reading.

Sounds like we had similar weeks ☺️. And now we both are sandal ready 🙌

My mum and I are the opposite of you and yours. She is always commenting on my unpainted nails when I wear sandals 😂. Hope this week is a better one for you.

That’s funny 😄. I wish I could be so carefree. Have a great week!

I haven’t worn sandals in years, so my feet probably need one of those home pedicures! 😂

My daughter cannot wait until sandal season, and will wear flip-flops until the weather gets too cold for them. Even then it takes a while for her to change to boots.

I have a collection of lovely flip flops, so I’m totally with your daughter ❤️. Have a great week!

I haven’t ever had a pedicure; I must be missing out 🙂 I’ve read Alice Feeney and Kathy Reichs but I don’t think I’ve ever read Christina Dodd so I’m going to take a further look at that one. Have a good week.

I read one other Christina Dodd book and absolutely loved it, so I am very excited about this one. And you must have a pedicure at least once, even if it’s just a home one. You’ll wonder why you never pampered yourself with one before. Have a great week!

I had a nice peaceful week. We started watching Outer Range as well, and like you, we’re not sure what to make of it. I hope it doesn’t end up being really disappointing.

I’m five episodes in and I still have no clue what’s what. Very strange.

I never used to until my sister brought these disposable pedicure booties with her for my birthday last year. They are so simple to use.

I’ll look them up! Thanks ❤️

Self-pedicures sound great, Tessa, all ready for the beach! Lots of fantasy on your list. I like that!
And I just finished Ozark (the last half of the last season). Very Soprano-like ending (I was unhappy but oh well). We’ll try Outer Range. Have a great time at your daughter’s graduation and enjoy the beach.

Outer Range is so strange. I’ll be curious if you can make heads or tails of it.

We might try it tonight. We aren’t in the middle of anything. 🙂

A new Alice Feeney?? Ooooh yea!!!
I hear you on the mani’s and pedi’s. It’s a given for me. My nails are ALWAYS done. Toes only in the summery months. For now I just have a clear coat on them, but it’s too cold for sandals already.
You are going to have a wonderful May!!
Have a good week and happy reading!

I’m looking forward to the new Alice Feeney book for sure! I usually have my toes painted, though with my hands it starts chipping after a day, so I gave up on that long ago. Have a great week!

That’s nice that you can do a pedicure on yourself that’s just as good as a professional one. I can’t because I’m plus size and I have a hard time bending over. Fortunately, the place I go to is really great. The only time I have a hard time is when they scrub off the dead skin because my feet are very ticklish.

That tickles me too. It’s good you found a wonderful mani pedi person. I’ve had a few over the years but it since I’ve been living where I am now.

My daughter graduates at the end of May. I will need to make time to tco my toes as well. I’ve been hiding them since October ( I ran a marathon and lost 4 toe nails!)

My daughter whose graduating is a dancer, and her toe nails are always in rough shape. She never even wears sandals anymore because of it. Hope you have a great week!

Like your mom, I also don’t care how my feet looks like as I’m more shoes person. But even when I occasionally wear sandals I don’t care. I’m not paint nails person either. Maybe living in country where people don’t judge if you go out of house without makeup or in pyjamas helps.

I’m loving the setting in Daisy Darker – but can’t believe Nana was the first victim! That’s one cold-blooded killer. Outer Range is also on my list. Dark, gritty, and strange usually work for me, but sometimes it can be too much.

I’m six episodes in and totally stymied by Outer Range. But yet I keep watching. 🤣. And, I’m so excited about Daisy Darker.

I love getting a pedicure and being pampered. I hope the rest of the week was not as bad. I am also looking forward to Daisy Darker and the Christina Dodd book. Wishing you a wonderful upcoming week, Tessa. 😊🌞💞

The rest of the week was just more of the same craziness but this week has started much quieter and normal. Pedicures are the best form of pampering ❤️
