Bookish Artwork #BookBloggerHop #coffeeramblings

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Do you have any bookish posters or artwork on your walls?

I do! Above is one of my favorite pieces of art that my husband has ever given me (and let me tell you how challenging it was to get a picture of it with minimal reflection off of the glass). It is a print of a cover of Don Quixote created by the French artist Gustave Doré. It looks like it even has texture like the original cover probably has.

I also have six little posters (5×7) with Dumbledore quotes on them but I haven’t done anything with them yet.

  1. I have seven book quotes printed on vintage dictionary pages. There’s a large black image in the middle of each page, then the quote is in the middle of each (revealing more dictionary print behind it). They’re hard to describe, but they look cool. Well, I like them, anyway.

  2. Hubby and sons had my Sarah book cover made into a poster that hangs at the top of the stairs to the bonus room. If you’ve seen that book cover, you’ll understand why it freaks out new visitors to our house, lol. I’d love to have some framed Dumbledore quotes.

  3. Oooh, I love that Don Quixote print, Tessa. It’s gorgeous!
I admit the only bookish prints I have in my den are covers of my own books. In the past, I often had artwork framed from various covers that I really liked. Now, I’ve replaced those with my own, LOL.

  4. Wow! That’s a lovely print. I don’t have any bookish art other than a pillowcase and some small posters. Bookmarks are my favorite bookish item. Have a good weekend, Tessa! ❤️

    1. I actually have wooden bookmarks from China that I was given as a thank you and I framed. I guess I should have put that too. I think the painted pictures on them are definitely artwork.

  5. That’s beautiful, Tessa. What a thoughtful husband. In this household, I’d have to buy it, give it to him, and tell him, “Look what you got me!” Lol. I do have a portrait of Mark Twain made by a local artist that I cherish. I bought it for myself. 😀

  6. What a gorgeous picture Tessa. I do not have any bookish artwork right now. I do hope to get something for my office/library that I will have in my new house (when I get it built). I found a couple of websites off Lynne @Fictionophile blog under Bookish Art. Some great pictures and prints to choose from.
