Sunday Post 60 | And 2022 Begins

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day was mostly in the 70’s, which is above normal but then it changed drastically on Monday – I woke up to big flakes of snow coming down very hard. Big shocker! Of course, it didn’t last long or stick. But it was the beginning to a very abnormally cold but dry week. We normally have highs in the 50s during the winter but we went from 20 degrees above the normal to 20 degrees below the normal. Brrrrrr!

I finally got through to the end of the busy time at work, so I’ll be going back to working just two days per week for a few hours. That makes staying up with everybody’s blog posts and reading/reviewing so much easier. And my house is quiet again. As of today, everybody (and their cats) have gone back to school/work/ and home. So now it’s just hubby, me, and our two cats in the house. I always miss the girls when they aren’t here but I’ll be happy to get rid of the mess. 😇

This week, The Book of Boba Fett came out on Disney+ and we were front and center. It details what happened after Boba Fett perished with Jaba the Hut in the second of the original Star Wars trilogy, which I guess was episode 5 in the whole series. It takes place when Fett takes over Jaba’s stronghold and flashes back to his surviving the sand monster and forging a relationship with the Sand People. It’s filmed like the Mandalorian, which is a bit odd but you get used to it.

    1. The Personal Shopper does look good, doesn’t it? It’s part of a blog tour I’m doing for Rachel’s Random Resources.

    1. That’s weird to think the weather patterns being the same all the way across the Atlantic. I wonder how often that happens?

  2. We are still waiting for some snow here as it’s too hot for the season. But I’d skip any snow storm that USA had this past week! Enjoy the peace now that everyone is back at school!

    1. I’m very glad that just seeing snow fall for an hour or two was all that we got form that system that dumped so much snow north of us. That was crazy!

  3. I’m not sure where you’re based, but in the UK it’s been so cold 😂but no sign of snow, at least for me! Have a great week!

  4. I am glad you have the house to yourself again, Tess. I hope your new schedule works out well for you. As for me, I am trying to get back to blogging after a long break, hope it sticks!

  5. I quite like a bit of snow, but it doesn’t happen very often here in London. Must be nice to go back to working 2 days per week, it gives you time to do lots of other stuff as well. Sundial sounds intriguing. I’ve also heard good things about her previous book, The Last House on Needless Street, but never got around to read it.

    1. Her previous book was very creative. Her talent definitely shined bright. But, it is a very deeply intense read so it is one, for me, that I have to be mentally prepared for and I’m betting Sundial will be similar that way. Have a wonderful week!

  6. We haven’t had much snow at all for the last two years (thanks, climate change?) but we got an unexpected foot this week. Because I am disabled and can’t really go anywhere, I wasn’t pressured to be out in it, so I had the unique pleasure of just…watching it snow. Been a minute since I could do that.

Personal Shopper just *jumped* on my TBR. Nothing I could do.

    Happy Sunday!

    1. Don’t you hate and love it in equal measures when a new books jumps on your TBR like that? I’m so glad you were able to find pleasure in being able to just watch the snow. It really is beautiful when you can enjoy it without having to go out in it. Hope you have a wonderful week, Lori!

    1. Cold does make you just want to hunker down wrapped in a warm blanket with a warm drink and a good book, doesn’t it?

  7. Oooh snow! It’s got cold here but it rarely snows in South West England but the North has had some. Enjoy the peace (and non mess!) for a bit ❤

    1. It was so pretty for an hour and then it was gone. Nothing on the roads or anywhere. That’s how it snows in the southern US. 😂

  8. I think Sundial will wind up having either Loved it or Hated it posts, with very little in the middle. I guess I am saying I am a psychic this year.😎

    1. I can see that potential. You know, when I saw your picture of it so long ago, I decided not to request it. The first book was done so artfully but the intensity was a bit tough for me. People were telling me how glad they were that I enjoyed it and I kept thinking, “I don’t know that I enjoyed it so much as I survived it and I appreciated the talent that it reflects.” So, I was totally going to pass on Sundial but then it was handed to me. Turning away books that are handed to me is nearly impossible. 😂

  9. We also had an abnormally warm week between Christmas and new year’s, it got colder on Tuesday or so. But gladly no snow!

    1. Luckily, the snow only lasted while it was falling (for about an hour) so I could deal with that. Not a big fan of these abnormally cold temps but I’m sure it’ll get back up to normal soon. Have a great week!

  10. Hi Tessa, I hope you are enjoying your quiet, tidier home 😊 We also had the temps plummet, after we had a very mild Christmas and New Year, here in the UK. 🥶 This week I have been reading the dual-narrative historical-fiction, The Lost Diary of Venice by Margaux Deroux and re-watching series one of A Discovery of Witches, so I am all ready for the third and final series which has just been released. 🧙‍♀️

  11. We got a bit of snow here, and then really cold temps for a while! But this week it is supposed to be back up to spring like weather, well, cool spring weather. The Personal Shopper looks good. Enjoy your new books and have a good week!

  14. We must have got your 50 degree weather this week, which has been nice as the previous 3 weeks were cold and snowy. Nice haul Tessa!

  15. We had a really good snow here on Thursday. Like you, we were in the 70s just days before – so weird. Boba Fett is on my list! Just need to finish a couple of other series first.

    1. I parcel out all of the series throughout the week an episode at a time instead of binge watching. I actually started one more show and watched a movie but I will put them in later Sunday posts.

  16. I love when the family is all over, but I agree, it is nice when everyone is gone. The weather has been crazy everywhere this year. It was in the 40s Christmas Week at home (we usually have snow) and just after New Year’s it plunged to the teens. I am glad I am in warm Florida. It has been high 70s, low 80s since I arrived. I have been watching Outlander and am almost finished Season #1, but I fast forward through the steamy scenes. Have a great week, Tessa and enjoy your new books. 🌞📚😀
