The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

How many books have you read this year?
(submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

It seems I have read 165 books so far this year. And the breakdown by genre looks like this:

How many books have you read this year?
200 here, oops

I can’t imagine getting to 200 but I did notice on my Goodreads friends list, I had a number of friends (all bloggers) that made it to 200 and over. Kudos!!!

Well done 😊 I think I’m on 114 this year, which is amazing I have only probably managed 10 before 💕

114 is great! Before blogging my number was much smaller too 🤗

That’s a great number and it looks like you had a variety of genres too 😊

Wow 165 is great! I think I’ve read around about 100. Is this from Storygraph? I want to try that next year ❤

That graph is from Storygraph! Did you ever figure out the downloading from Goodreads or are you just going to start fresh in January?

No I didn’t figure it out but I have added my tbr to it and will start January!!! ❤

I bet you’ll get there. What a great number to round out the year ❤️

Wow! That’s an awesome number. I’m in the 140’s, but some of those are children’s or middle grade. Nice job! I love the break down you have of genres. 👍

140s is awesome! Storygraph has great charts. I love that about it.

Good for you Tessa. According to Goodreads, I have read 798 books this year. Now I know that sounds like a crazy amount. 336 were audiobooks, 180 were children’s/MG/toddlers books. 19 were Non-Fiction, and the final 284 were a mix of novels and novellas.

Thanks Tessa. The perks of being retired and living alone. I also have almost 3000 books on my TBR, so it balances out, I guess.

Wow that’s fantastic! I’ve read 132 and counting until the 31st!

132 is awesome! Yeah, I have like4- 5 more books I should get read before the end of the year too. Happy reading ❤️🤗❤️

I don’t know how many I read. I only reviewed 19 on my blog, but there were many I read and didn’t review (for various reasons). I need to keep better track of things. But I know I didn’t read as many as you!

If Goodreads didn’t tell me, I would have no clue. And I have trouble imagining that many books much less digesting that I actually read that many 😳🤣😆

I surpassed my goal of 85 on Goodreads, and it looks like I’ll come out around 110. Not too shabby.

Not too shabby at all, especially when you consider that you wrote a book in that time too. 🤗❤️🤗

Great post! 165, is an incredible number – I only read 11 but last year I read 10 – so babysteps!!

That sounds like a fine amount. It’s not about how many but about how well you enjoyed them.

That’s great, Aaron! I bet your pages read are not too far off from mine since the type of books you read tend to be on the longer side, I think.

Yea, I tend to go for 400-800 pages. My average, due to the few pesky novellas I’ve sampled, is about 380🙈

I love the graph! What a fantastic way to see what you’ve read. Here’s to the next 165 books!

When we did that post about keeping track of the books we read, a lot of people mentioned Storygraph – so of course I had to give it a try. It provides those beautiful graphs. ❤️

What does it say about me that I love these type of charts! (Hint: my degree is in accounting😏)
Congrats on the 165 books and counting! I’m at 149, thinking I’ll end up around 155.

Oh! One more…
I was sure your graph would show a higher percentage in fantasy. Guess I shouldn’t bf surprised as I’ve added a ton of thrillers to my shelf because of you💜

Thrillers vs. Fantasy both tend to come in waves, so at times it does seem like a read a lot more of one over the other. I was surprised by how much YA I read though most of those are fantasy.

My oldest daughter just finished her master’s in accounting and got a job at an accounting firm‘s Raleigh office. She’s now working on her CPA exams. 1 down and 5 to go.
I like the pretty colors of the graph. Lol.

Impressive totals, Tessa. You’ve also got a nice spread of genres too. I haven’t read a quarter of the books you’ve read. Maybe next year. Lol!
