The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

What is your favorite memory surrounding books?
(submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)

My favorite memory surrounding a book is when my sweet grandmother gave me her beloved copy of Pride and Prejudice. I was only 12 or 13, but I could tell how much it meant to her. After I read it, we had a lovely conversation about the story. This was the first time I bonded with anyone over a book and how extra special that it was my grandmother.
She gave me more Victorian classics over the years, and we would talk about them after I read them, but there was something about that first book that was extra special. She passed away almost ten years ago, but I will always have the memories of our shared love of Victorian literature and what it meant to me to bond over those stories. ❤️❤️❤️
That is such a lovely memory 💜

That is such a lovely memory, really something to treasure. Weirdly, I have to really strain myself to think of a memory where I have connected with somebody over a book since most of my family are not big on reading.

I remember my father reading The Wizard of OZ to us as kids, making voices for all the characters.

My dad died when I was only 8 years old. I don’t remember a lot, more emotions than things, but I have one memory I treasure. Every night, we all crawled onto his bed and he pulled out the big Bible Story book. We got to take turns picking what story he would read us before bed. I often chose, “Joseph and the Coat of Many Colours”. It is a memory that brings tears to my eyes, but also a smile to my face. 📚🧡😥
