Did you fall back last night? Does your country or state follow Daylight Savings Time?
I love having an extra hour of sleep, and I love the sunrise not being so late in the morning. It feels weird when sunrise is after 8 am.
This week has been pretty low-key. The big highlight was ordering new decking to replace the decking that’s starting to show much decay. It’s a second-story deck, so I really don’t want to step out and fall through a rotted-out section 😳 Fortunately, delivery people for supplies are apparently a lot easier to come by than delivery people for appliances. It took us almost a month to get our washer, but our decking supplies will be here by next Saturday.
No books are left on my requested shelf on NetGalley. My last two requests came through as approved. And I am at 80% feedback ratio. Woo hoo! My “Give Feedback “shelf, of course, is very full, with 58 books, but you have to start somewhere.

I couldn’t find much interesting on any of my streaming apps, but I did watch a new Netflix holiday movie called Love Hard, which is a combination of the two main characters favorite Christmas movies – Love, Actually and Die Hard.
Nina Dobrev’s character meets a guy on a dating app – he’s perfect except he lives on the other side of the country. So, she decides to surprise him for Christmas and – surprise, surprise – she finds out when she gets there that she’s been catfished but the guy she thought she was talking to lives in the town.
Totally predictable but still it made me smile.
I also found a cool new baking show on Netflix that mixes baking and engineering. It’s really creative and pretty cool when things go like they are supposed to go.

And it should stick. I don’t expect a deluge (from Harlequin Blog Tours or St. Martin’s Press group of Read Nows) for quite a while.

I’ll be you looks like an interesting read. I watched Cruella with my husband last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was interesting to see someone’s intake on why she was like she was. Problem was I didn’t realise how long the film was and didn’t get to bed till one in the morning. I helped my daughter sell some of my granddaughter’s old stuff yesterday and every time we got money, my daughter went and spent it. Although thankfully there wasn’t much to buy this time. She got some wellington boots and boots because at two she has a size seven and they just keep on growing, but her dad is six foot six and my daughter nearly six foot so it is to be expected.

Your daughter has a good plan in the works. She makes room and money to buy the needed items all in one fell swoop. I like it. ❤️ So glad to hear you enjoyed Cruella. I love villain backstories too.

Our clocks went back a couple of weeks ago, it’s dark now at 4.30pm, it’s so weird! Congrats on getting your Netgalley down!

That’s early. Sundown is about 5:30 here with the change. So sun up to sun down is like the normal workday hours.

It reminds me of Christmas so I quite like it!

I live in Arizona where we do not do daylights savings. And I love not changing the clocks 2x a year. Thanks for the tip on the Netflix movie Love Hard. I’ll go check it out.

I bet you’ll thoroughly enjoy Love Hard. My oldest daughter watched it yesterday too and we both agreed it was a fun movie to watch ❤️
I guess if time stopped switching at this point, it would probably be okay. Though the sun would rise very early in the summer. That’s what black out curtains were made for, right?

Congrats on your outstanding NG standing!!! I bow to you💜
I completely forgot about falling back after I fell asleep. Conked out at about 10:00 pm and woke up at 3:00 am the new time and couldn’t understand why (I only need 6 hours!). Got up at 3:30 and finished listening to a good book. Noticed the time change when I went to make coffee😏 My microwave clock said 7:00 am and the lightbulb 💡 finally went off. At least I got some quality reading in!

That’s a really nice selection of books you’ve got from Netgalley. I’ve never read an Anne Rice book and feel as thought I’ve missed a rite of passage! Whilst clocks going back is nice in the morning, it’s pitch black before 5pm in the UK, which I always dread.

That’s interesting. Here, sunset is now at 5:30ish, which is okay. And yes, you need to try an Anne Rice book. It’s never too late. ❤️

Bet on it sounds delightful, Tessa. I’m looking forward to your take on it. And Ramses the Damned sounds like one I’d enjoy as a Rice fan. Thanks for sharing those. My husband and I just started watching Dexter (years after everyone else). He’s not much of a sociopath/psychopath but the show is entertaining in a weird way. And thanks for the tip on the baking show. I enjoy those. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Dexter is kind of weird. I didn’t last very long with it but I hope you all enjoy it. ❤️

The bakineers were so cool! I watched that one. I started a show called Bake Squad, which is good, too. Every Friday is a new Great British Baking Show. And then I’ve been watching Dragula on Shudder, but they also release one episode per week. Ugh, all they’re doing is slowing me down when they release one episode at a time.
I didn’t know you are an Anne Rice fan. I’ve read the first three of the vampire chronicles and always want to read more, but I know at some point those books are going to drop off and get weird when Rice became a devout Christian, and I don’t want to experience that.

They never did get weird. And the witch series she did was even a bit scary. I look forward to reading this new one about Ramses.

I don’t think I’ve ever not had pending requests on NG. I have 20 right now, over 30 on the shelf, and a 92% feedback ratio. A good interruption-free reading binge would be appreciated right now. Have a great week, Tessa!

I don’t actually request all that many. Anymore (and this wasn’t always true) I am often sent widgets, invitations to request, or notice that a book is Read Now for a limited time. Hope you get your interruption free reading binge. ❤️

Okay, so yes, I fell back and I enjoy that extra hour. I wish we just stopped the whole thing though. I have about 20 books pending and I won’t tell you how many I have to read. I will say my percentage is 63% up from 59% 6 months ago. That trailer is great and I am definitely going to watch Love Hard, it looks fun. I hope you had a great week Tessa.

I would be okay if we stopped at a fall back I think. I’m not sure how early the sun would rise in the summer but at least it would rise at a fairly normal time in the winter. And, you are making some progress. That’s good. 🤗
