We’ve had a break from the excessive southern heat this week. Instead of normal summer temps of 90+(F) / 32+(C) plus, it’s only been in the 80’s. This is always a welcome change. It has me thinking about varying up my VR workout (Supernatural) with some walking outside.

Of course, this is also the time of year when pollen gets worse, so my allergies are going crazy. That doesn’t make being outside such a great idea, but how do I resist the nicer weather. You would think taking three prescriptions for allergies all year would make them non-existent but somehow it doesn’t.
Even my youngest cat, Theo, can’t resist the fresh air and he gets stuffy from environmental allergens too. He has FIV and a chronic sinus infection, and I often wonder if that makes him more susceptible to allergens than other cats. I limit his exposure but it feels mean to not let him bask in the fresh air a little.

Last weekend, hubby, the girls and I went to the theater to see Shang-Chi, the newest Marvel superhero to hit the theater. I love Asian mysticism/magic and martial arts, so I enjoyed this movie a lot. AND, the last season of Lucifer came out on Netflix on Friday. I didn’t waste any time watching a few episodes.

I’m on my weekend away, but I woke up early and laptop will travel. We are going to have a cooked breakfast in a bit, and take a walk along the prom. I’m enjoying the last few days. We really needed a holiday. Even a couple of days is worth it.

Those are beautiful kitties! 😻 My week was a busy, sweaty and fun one, as we returned to school and enjoyed a bit of an Indian summer here in the UK. ☀ When not too tired I was able to read Miracles by C.S. Lewis and finish watching Beecham House (2019). Take care and happy reading/viewing in the coming week. 🙂

It was 30C over here at the beginning of the week and it was far too hot for me. I’m glad you enjoyed the latest Marvel film my son went to the cinema to see it and loved it too!

I prefer it to be less than too. The southern US has extrememly hot summers but mild winters. I do enjoy the mild winters. 🙂

Our weather broke this week as well with temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s. It is back up in the low 90s today, but only for a couple of days. It has been amazing to spend even more time outside and not come in the house soaked. I had a good reading/listening week and have almost caught up on my reviews. I just requested two more books, thanks very much for showcasing them. I want to watch Shang-Chi, but am not ready to venture out to the theatre, so will wait until it shows up on Netflix or Prime (hopefully). It sounds like you had a great week and so did I. Enjoy your upcoming week, Tessa. 😊🌞💖

We are supposed to be back in the 90s for Monday and Tuesday but hopefully 70s and 80s will be more of the norm until fall temps actually takes hold in Oct/Nov.
I am so lucky that my town’s little theater has managed to stay open becuase it feels so safe. Not a whole lot of people go – instead preferring the big theaters – they do an excellent job of keeping it clean and disinfected, and the way it’s set up with high back office chairs and tables makes it so easy to keep your distance from others. There was maybe 20 people tops in the theater with us and noone except my family was closer than 6 feet. more like 12 feet or more.
Have a great week Carla!

That sounds perfect, Tessa. I don’t have that option, I wish I did.

Enjoy the cooler weather! It’s still in the 90s here during the day, but it’s getting cooler at night, which I’m very happy about.

In the morning when I wake up it is in the high 60’s. Happy dance weather! Mon and Tuesday will be back in the 90s but then it goes back down to the 80s. I love when the heat breaks!

I’m not very fluent in Fahrenheit but I do know that anything above 24C (75F) is just too hot for me! I also dislike the cold – I’m just hard to please!

It’s all on Netflix now. They took it over when the network cancelled it a few years ago. I just love all the snarkiness. 🙂

I changed the temperature reading in our car to celsius and I have quickly learned that anything above 27C is too flipping hot! I have heard so many good things about Shang-Chi, I’m debating to wait til it’s on Disney + or to just mask up and go to the theater! Hope you have a great week!

I was going to wait the 45 days for Shang-Chi to be available on Disney+ but then my daughters came home and dragged us to the theater. I enjoyed it very much and was so glad they did ❤️

We are barely into Spring but the weather is already heating up here, it was in the mid 80’s over the weekend, but it’s back to the more reasonable mid- upper 70’s for today.
The premise of The Violence is interesting, I look forward to reading what you thought of it.
Wishing you a great reading week

Mid-70s is my happy temperature. You can hardly get me to come inside when it’s in that range.

I got the widget for The Violence, but for some reason Harper Collins never approves my requests. I also watched the first episode of the new season of Lucifer – sad it’s ending, but I’m so excited to see what happens. Glad you got a break in the weather, Tessa – have a great week!

I hope your allergies get better soon. I don’t suffer from allergies, but my husband son, and two of my dogs do, and it’s just impossible to keep them under control when it’s bad like it is this year. I love the photo of the cats.. so adorable!!

So impossible and then when I take Sudafed it tends to keep me up even after it’s out of my system which is frustrating. But so does not being able to breathe through my nose. Lol. So, what a choice, right?
