This week has been about starting to organize my lovely daughters’ summer (as much as I need to). They both had a few important things they’ve been procrastinating about, so I had to do my mom mojo trick (they call it nagging – I call it persistence 🤷🏻‍♀️) and help inspire them to get those to-do items done.

My oldest daughter is graduating from her Master’s program at the end of the month, so that comes with it a few different plans that need to be organized. Luckily, one of the job positions she was offered (and ended up accepting) is in commutable range from UNC Chapel Hill (where both girls have been attending college), so my daughters can continue to live together for my youngest’s senior year there. They are just going to move into an apartment that is halfway between the job and school. We finally got notice that their application was approved for that apartment this week, so I started making my lists of what needs to be done. Lists, lists and more lists. Furniture to buy, places to call like insurance and movers – it’s exhausting to think about much less do.

Planning, planning, planning is going to be what my summer is all about. Or I could just go back to the beach. 🤔

Fox cancelled the TV show, Lucifer, a few years ago, and after seeing how enthusiastic fans were to save the show, Netflix picked it up and made it their own. The second half of season 5 was just released, so my TV time has been spent enjoying the most recent episodes of the show. I’m happy to report that Netflix hasn’t changed anything about it. It’s still is crazy and fun and an interesting look at heaven and hell, angels and demons. This season, God is even making an appearance as you can see in the trailer below. ❤️

      Lucifer is so fun to watch!

      And, my girls living together actually has worked out really well. I’ve only gotten one call from each, in the last year telling me to “do something about my daughter.” Definitely, a success, especially since I had to deal with weekly roommate drama when they were living with other people and that was a serious headache.❤

    Tessa, I am glad that with your ‘persistence’ your daughters have been able to make plans for next year! 😉 My week has been spent in the garden, but I did also do some organisation around the house and booked my summer staycation. Your book haul looks great – enjoy! I spent my week re-reading the YA fantasy Eragon by Christopher Paolini and watched the gripping crime-drama Mare of Easttown (2021).       The youngest daughter finally has a career counseling appt, so maybe just maybe, she’ll have a clear path before she graduates – one that she is excited about (fingers-crossed), and the oldest daughter took care of odds and ends, which is always good.

      I’ve never reread Eragon but I did like it the first time. Have a wonderful week!

      I’m sure they are great books so maybe they will help you avoid the slump. It’s so incredibly hot and humid (mid to upper 90’s and the air thick with moisture) here during the summer, so reading in the airconditioning is a welcome break from that heat 😊

      Me too. The one I am most anxious about is my youngest’s appointment with the career counselor. I really want her to figure out this career thing preferably before she finishes next summer. I talked her into making an appointment with the career counselor because, well, as my daughter – she doesn’t listen to me when I try to direct her. lol. She will listen to a stranger much better and hopefully take steps. ❤

    I haven’t watched Lucifer since it moved to Netflix, but your post made me want to pick it out again. It was rather crazy, but great entertainment!

    Double congrats to your daughter, Tessa! Glad they were able to work out the living arrangements. I also started watching Lucifer, but I’ve only seen the first episode of this second half of the season. Seems like I waited forever!

      And we are so happy that daughter. #1 made the choice she did and that she will be gainfully employed! Now she just needs to pass her CPA exams.

      I’ve read one Anne Bishop and I really enjoyed it a lot. So when those two popped up on sale it was a no brainer for me. Hopefully I’ll het to them soon. They were very highly rated.
