#BookBloggerHop | Computer, iPad, or Phone

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Question:

Do you do most of your blog work on a computer, iPad, or phone?

(submitted by Elizabeth @ Complex Chaos)

Answer:

It’s almost 50% computer and 50% iPad, never on my phone.

There are some things that I can only do or are easier on my computer – like fiddling with the graphics to make sure they show up on social media when my post is shared. And, there are more options on WordPress (on my computer), like the Kindle link and preview option, changing text size, grouping items, etc..

But – using the block editor and inserting photos and gifs is actually easier from my iPad. I use Word and Grammarly for the text part of posts and that is available and linked on both platforms. The iPad also can be easily anywhere while I’m working on it, whereas my desktop computer is stationary and my laptop computer is way to heavy to be caring around.

What do you do most of your blog work on?

  1. Luckily my laptop is very lightweight (too light as I’ve nearly dropped it soooo many times). I don’t have an ipad and get frustrated by how poor phone apps are for blogging, so it’s PC all the way for me.

    1. I can’t even imagine trying to blog on my phone. It kind of makes my head hurt thinking about it. Lol. If I had to pick one platform, I would definitely go with computer.

  2. PC for me. Even though I had a desktop PC until Feb this year I preferred that over tablets/phones. Now I got a pretty light-weight laptop and it makes doing things even more easy! Tablets (not Ipad) and phones are fun if you need to do a quick fix or make photographs for blog, but other than that, no thank you for blogging on that. Doesn’t work and goes wrong too easily.

    1. Next time I purchase a laptop, I’m definitely going to pay attention to the weight of the device. Heavy laptops might as well not be laptops because they aren’t easily mobile. My iPad works pretty well for blogging though occasionally I have an issue with the changes I make on the computer not showing up on the app on my iPad, which is really annoying.

  3. I use my laptop for all my blog posts, and when I’m at work and need to fix something or make a quick change I use my phone but that always kinda terrifies me 🙈😂

    1. Using my phone would scare me – I feel like I just can’t see enough. But computers are definitely preferable. ❤️

      1. I do always use my phone for bloghopping and responding to comments on my blog. Speaking of, did you get my replies? I’ve been told they don’t show up in the app.

        1. Yes, I see them in the app 🤷🏻‍♀️. I always “like” replies/comments, so you can also tell by that.

  4. I’m 99% laptop. I did download the WP app and have started answering comments on my blog when I get a chance at work. No way could I handle everything on my phone – it would end with a shattered screen scattered on the floor.

    1. I actually prefer reading others’ blog posts and answering comments on my iPad. I find it easier to share posts and making sure I catch everything.

  5. I mainly use my laptop and the tablet only now and then. I’m not a big tablet fan, can’t give you any good reason for it though! I use my phone for graphics as I like the apps on my phone more than on the laptop. I’m a bit BC and still grew up in an era with no home computers, laptops or cellphones, so I’m a bit of a clumps. My husband is very computer savvy, but not interested in the blog at all so I’m on my own there.

Have a good weekend and happy reading!

  6. Interesting! I actually prefer the computer, but now that I’ve gotten the hang of it, most posts can be on my phone. Phone does seem tedious at times though. Great share, Tessa. 😉

  7. I’m a laptop user except for driving directions, phone calls, and reading. 🙂 It’s probably a sign of my age that the new fangled tech (like ipads – lol) aren’t used to their full potential. How nice that we have all these choices though! Have a great week, Tessa, and Happy Reading. 🙂
