This week was all about getting back to my normal routine. Lots of washing of bedding and towels since all my guests have departed and my daughters have returned to campus. And lots of sleeping to catch up on lost sleep. But, I’ve enjoyed the quiet normalcy of it just being me, my husband, and my three crazy cats.

I get my second vaccination shot tomorrow. Yay! Then on Wednesday, I get have a root canal. Boo! I chipped one of my canine teeth just a little and that caused a small abscess. Now, I must get a root canal {{sigh}}.
How was your week?

I bought two bargain books and downloaded two ARC approvals from NetGalley this week.

Since I was resting and relaxing, I was able to watch quite a few things. I watched The Nevers first episode. It’s the historicalish fantasy show on HBO that I mentioned last week. I liked it. It’s kind of quirky and strange but also kind of cool and very interesting. A bit violent but there was only one scene (I think) with body parts showing that are normally covered by unmentionables. For an HBO show, that’s pretty impressive.

Paramont+ (which used to be CBS all access) has the first four episodes of the new and final season of Younger with Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, and Debi Mazar. If you haven’t seen this show, it’s about a woman who is trying to get back into the book publishing world after 20ish years and finds that every place is looking for someone younger (hence, the title) so she pretends to be in her twenties and she immediately gets a job. It’s about the publishing world, so that alone means it’s worth watching 😇.
I also tried a new show on CW – Kung Fu. I liked it, but then I’m a sucker for Asian-inspired mystical weapons and warriors type of fantasy. And I think martial arts fights are very cool.
Did you read, watch, or do anything fun this week?

I’m posting my WWW post here instead of separately on Wednesday TEMPORARILY (just until June). I will reblog this whole post on Wednesday, so anyone who may have missed it has a quick link to find it.
Just Finished
I just finished this The Write Reads blog tour read and boy does it get you thinking. The world is coming to an end precisely on September 17th. On that day, the earth will no longer be able to sustain life due to all the environmental costs of modern technology. It was announced nine months ahead of time. How would you live your life knowing the precise day it’s going to end?
Currently Reading
Today, I’m reading Buried for Good for a Rachel’s Random Resources blog tour. The book is about a murderer loose on a remote Scottish island. A private investigator, there to protect a famous yoga instructor, must figure out who is killing off the guests. Sounds like just my kind of read.
Reading Next
Next, I’m reading this Bookouture Women’s Fiction (humorous) book for a blog tour with Chick Lit Central. The Amazon bolded description says it’s a feel-good read about being true to yourself and becoming the person you were always meant to be. Long Walk Home will make you laugh, make you cry and show you that true love always finds a way. Sounds like a perfect read to enjoy poolside or at the beach, doesn’t it?

Yay for second vaccination but boo for root canal, Tessa – I hope it will go as well as it can for you. 🙏 This week I have also taken time to catch up on washing and getting ready for returning to work tomorrow. I also enjoyed my first lunch out with friends and have been swept away by the historical-mystery Justice Hall by Laurie R. King. 😊 Take care and happy reading in the coming week, Tessa 🙂

After the 2 weeks passed from my second jab, I was actually looking forward to going to the dentist. I am dental phobic, so that is no joke. Over a year without getting my teeth cleaned made me know I had to do it. I found out that vaccinated or not, I have to produce a negative Covid test taken within 3 days first. I appreciate their dedication to safety, but darn, you don’t need to put more barriers in front of a phob! Wishing you the best of luck with the root canal.

Wow! That’s so surprising. Mine stayed closed longer than I thought was probably wise in the beginning but other than taking temp check and asking Covid questions, it’s been business as usual.

I have The Bone Code as well. I have read all of the books in this series and hope that this one is as good as the rest. Have a great week!

You know, I have a signed copy of one of her books in this series and I watched the show faithfully every week, but I have never read any of the books – not even the one I have signed. Crazy, right? When this book popped up, I figured it was time to change that. ❤️

Thank you 🤗 And Darling Rose Gold sounds wonderful and that cover! 😍. I’ve been eyeing it ever since it first started making the rounds on the blogosphere, and when it came up for $1.99 – that was time to buy it!

ahhh sorry that you have to get a root canal! I’ve never had one but my husband has and it doesn’t look fun. I want to watch The Nevers! We put it on the other day but the entire opening scene had no dialogue so we turned it off since we weren’t able to actually sit down and watch it lol Things To Do Before the End of the World sounds like an interesting read! Hope you enjoyed. Happy reading!

I totally watch tv all the time without actually watching it, so I know what you mean and The Nevers is definitely one you need to watch as well as listen to. Have a great week!

Yay for your second dose! We had no side effects at all, so hoping yours is just as easy. I hadn’t heard of Younger, but it sounds like something I’d like – especially since it’s in the pub industry. Good luck with the root canal.

Buried for Good sounds really good! I hope the root canal process is painless.

Me too! Root canals are a little bit of challenge for me because I’m on blood thinners to prevent blood clots, so I can’t take Ibuprophin. This apparently make recovery quite a bit longer. But I have a plan 🤞

I’m behind again so just catching up to this. Congrats on getting your house back but bummer about the root canal. Hope you got great pain relievers!

It’s all about the good pain relievers, right? I’m on blood thinners because of a weird problem with blood clots I had a few years ago, so I have to have the good pain relievers since I can’t take ibuprofen. Whatever makes it better 😇
