Little Birthday Cakes 😍

This weekend my daughters came home and my sister drove down from Delaware – all to celebrate my birthday with me, (which is today – Sunday the 28th). Lots of wonderful family time!

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week were absolutely gorgeous! Sunny and high 60s to low 70s. The sun and warmer temps definitely lifted my mood. I did a lot of walking, and it felt good to leave my four walls, even for a brief time. I’m happy to report that the lake is looking less brown in the sunshine.

How was your week?

Books Read in February

Since it’s the end of the month, I thought I’d do a wrap up. I read the following 12 books this month and posted 12+ book reviews.

These are the books I received through NetGalley this week. St. Martin’s Press did one of their large Read Now weekends – this time for YA Rom Coms, which you can probably tell from the covers:

In case you missed any of my posts last week, you can find them here:

I hope you come back to see the following:

  • Tuesday (3/2): Book Review | Small Magic by Terry Brooks (Fantasy ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️)
  • Wednesday (3/3): WWW Wednesday
  • Thursday (3/4): Book Review | Forget Me Not by Alexandra Oliva (Mystery)
  • Friday (3/5): Book Blogger Hop: How have books changed you the most?

I didn’t really watch anything this week. I was too busy walking or reading for screen time. It is supposed to rain all week this week, so I’m sure I will watch something good coming up.

Did you read, watch, or do anything fun this week?

  1. Glad to hear the weather has warmed up for you too and happy upcoming birthday! 🥳 My week was an eventful one as I managed to fracture my little finger! So I have taken the time to rest and indulge in some comfort books and viewings, including reading the fantasy-comedy Eric by Terry Pratchett and re-watching the BBC’s brilliant fun fantasy Merlin. 🧙‍♂️ Take care and happy reading and viewing in the coming, possibly rainy, week. 🙂

  3. Hmmm. You read Spellmaker and Spellbreaker. That makes me think you like the first and couldn’t resist the second (?). I’m am now going to hunt down your reviews. 🙂
    And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

    1. I did enjoy them. Spellbreaker should be a Kindle Unlimited and, since I DNF’d the book I was going to post a review for on Thursday – I will have the review for both of them up in its place. It is a very intriguing magical world.

  4. This week I watched Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13! I would have watched 8 but it wasn’t on Netflix, sadly. I want to read the Spellbreaker series… hopefully here soon.😂

  5. Happy belated birthday! I’m glad you had your family over (not a given during this pandemic, at least not here). I’m also so happy the weather is better where you are. I’ll check out your book reviews too.

    1. Good catch! With my family here, I forgot to do my final double check when I make sure I notice those things. My daughters come and go but that’s the first time I’ve seen my sister since before Covid. It was definitely a fun and busy weekend even with restrictions ❤️
