WWW Wednesday | Another Week and 3 New Reads

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I finished – sort of – The Ever After yesterday. There are so many cool things about it but there are also so many things that I didn’t like at all. I’m not really sure what to do with this book review-wise. I’m in a quandary over it, for sure.

I’m starting Bone Canyon today which is completely switching genres, as it is a mystery/thriller. The first book in the series was my Prime First Reads pick a while back and I thought, hmmm…when I saw book 2 on NetGalley. I had hoped to read book 1 and 2 together but I may just end up reading book 2 for now. Luckily, with mysteries, you don’t usually need to read book 1 first of even at all. I’m really curious if I will like it but I think there is definitely a good chance.

And, what I am most looking forward to this week is the third book in The Vine Witch trilogy entitled, The Conjurer. All three of those books have such beautiful covers and I have loved the story to date.

The week of Christmas and the week of New Year’s, I will just be posting the reviews I have scheduled, so my next WWW post will not be until 1/6/2021. That is going to be one full post 😊

So, that’s my reading week. What does yours look like?

Determined to prove her innocence, she returns to her adopted home—a French village renowned for its perfume witches—with her friends Elena and Yvette by her side. Here is where Sidra’s true destiny awaits, but danger also lurks in the village’s narrow lanes.

On her trail is Jamra, another jinni, who’s after more than revenge for the murder of his brother. He also seeks vengeance for the indignities inflicted on jinn by mortals over the centuries. When he learns of an ancient relic capable of unleashing chaos on the world, and that the weapon is in the hands of his murderous sister-in-law, he vows to destroy Sidra to get it.

Relying on a sisterhood of magic, a mysteriously faithful dog, and a second-rate sorcerer, Sidra defends herself using the village’s greatest asset: its perfume. Sacred flower…

The Älvolk released Ulla alive for one reason only, to exchange her for a rare flower with mystical properties. 1. Love those covers in the Vine Witch series. I just started The Future is Yours by Dan Frey. Some serious quantum physics stuff that’s making my sci-fi-loving heart do happy dances.

    1. Aren’t those covers just gorgeous. I want to start framing some book covers and put them on the wall in my den where most of my bookshelves are. And, you know my heart does a happy dance too when quantum physics comes into play. So fascinating 🧐.
