About the Book

Could a post-it note really lead to love…?

Sadie doesn’t have time for finding love. She’s too busy as PA for famous artist Damian Banks. When she’s not arranging exhibitions, she’s organising his dry cleaning or dumping his never ending stream of girlfriends.

But when she strikes up an unusual friendship with her desk share buddy, she finds a confidante and a new potential love interest. Problem is, they’ve never actually met…

With Christmas just around the corner, can Sadie put herself first for a change and find what she’s been looking for all along?

The brand new romantic comedy from top 10 bestseller Portia MacIntosh. Perfect for fans of Sophie Ranald, Mhairi McFarlane and Zara Stoneley.

Goodreads Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stuck on You hits the spot when you need a fun, light read. It is entertaining with beautiful people in beautiful places, creating a great distraction when you need it most.

What I Loved

The story takes place in three different settings as Sadie (the main character) and Damian (her boss) travel for the holidays. I loved Sadie’s hometown the most- Hope Island, an island formed when high tide rolls in. A town on a tidal island is very intriguing to me, and I wonder if such places genuinely exist. I loved thinking about how careful you would need to be about not getting caught on the wrong side and the millions of ways that could go wrong.

My favorite part of the book is Christmas in Sadie’s hometown. It brought on all the Christmas feels and made me wish my small town celebrated the holiday as exuberantly as hers does. I want to go to a Dickens festival and watch It’s A Wonderful Life in a theater in my Christmas pajamas. It sounds like so much more fun than watching it on the television while distracted by last-minute things that need to get done.

The romance is fun. It is pretty easy to figure out the mysterious Adam but it provided some humorous moments as Sadie tried to figure it out. I love the post-it note correspondence between Adam and Sadie, as it reminds me of the post-it notes my husband puts on my coffee every morning before he goes to work. You can’t dismiss the potential of a well worded post-it note.

The characters are well-developed, albeit rather perfect—thirty-something, beautiful, with their ideal jobs or on their way to having their perfect jobs. I enjoy flaws in the characters I read, so if this cast of perfect and near-perfect people had been in anything other than this quick, fun read it would have worn on me a bit.

To Read or Not to Read

If you are looking for a quick escape in a world gone wrong, this is the perfect story to do just that.
