Life in General
It’s been pretty quiet this week. The weather here is becoming so heavenly – sunny and 70s – my favorite temp. Perfect weather for doing lots of things outside including READING!
I loved Crown of Coral and Pearl last year, and didn’t realize book 2 was coming out so soon. Needless to day, I jumped on it when it appeared in my selection of blog tour books for Harlequin Trade imprint Inkyard Press. I am starting it today and am really looking forward to finding out what will happen next.

As an old enemy resurfaces more powerful than ever, Nor will have to keep the kingdom from falling apart with the help of Prince Talin and Nor’s twin sister, Zadie. There are forces within the world more mysterious than any of them ever guessed—and they’ll need to stay alive long enough to conquer them…
I accepted this blog tour book on a whim because I just fell in love with the description. I never do any YA Romantic Comedy but this one just called to me and I am so glad I listened. I loved it❤️❤️❤️❤️ The main character, Emma, is so incredibly endearing with her almost autistic- type challenges. She is a teenager who makes a dating/matching app but she has no…as in none…understanding of the social aspects of life and especially teenage life.
”I don’t understand people,” I admit. “Not just you, I mean…any people.” I think about all the people who were so mean to her in middle school. Why would anyone act that way? “Numbers make sense to me. People not at all.” (Emma speaking, Chapter 15)
You know you want to go ”Awwww” – how could you not?
About This Book
- Genre: YA Romantic Comedy
- Title: The Code of Love and Heartbreak
- Author: Jillian Cantor
- Print Length: 304 pages
- Publisher: Inkyard Press
- Publication Date: October 6, 2020
In this contemporary romcom retelling of Jane Austen’s Emma by USA TODAY bestselling author Jillian Cantor, there’s nothing more complex—or unpredictable—than love.
When math genius Emma and her coding club co-president, George, are tasked with brainstorming a new project, The Code for Love is born.
George disapproves of Emma’s idea of creating a matchmaking app, accusing her of meddling in people’s lives. But all the happy new couples at school are proof that the app works. At least at first.
Emma’s code is flawless. So why is it that perfectly matched couples start breaking up, the wrong people keep falling for each other, and Emma’s own feelings defy any algorithm?
Yet, another blog tour book – this time with Rachel’s Random Resources – and a MYSTERY, finally! I love fantasy, but I prefer to read a mix of genres each week. Lately, my reading has been very fantasy heavy, but not this week. It is a good mix of genres. Doesn’t this one sound delightfully full of thrills and chills?
