The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Question:

What book or books are you going to read on Labor Day weekend?

(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Answer:

I’m looking forward to reading the following two books over the holiday weekend. A romcom and the last book in a fantasy trilogy by Jeff Wheeler that began with The Killing Fog. To make my holiday reads more perfect, I’d have to add in a thriller, but I did take care of that last weekend with Confessions on the 7:45 by Lisa Unger.

And…

To defeat an immortal evil, a young warrior must enter the land of the dead in the spellbinding conclusion to Wall Street Journal bestselling author Jeff Wheeler’s epic Grave Kingdom trilogy.

As kingdoms fall, brave young warrior Bingmei fights to fulfill a prophecy and save what’s left of the world from the coming darkness. Should she fail, Echion, the diabolical Dragon of Night, and his queen will hold sway over the next thousand years. With Echion comes his unstoppable army of dragons—powerful, vengeful, and under his control.

Accompanied by her loyal friend Quion, Bingmei journeys toward her last hope. It lies among the savage beasts just beyond the ancient Death Wall—an uninhabited realm from which no one has ever returned alive. Bingmei’s mission is to find the phoenix shrine and learn the Immortal Words that will allow her to harness eternal magic. With Echion and his legions in pursuit, Bingmei must choose her words wisely to break Echion’s spell and accept her fate.

Bingmei knows what she must do. She must join the ranks of the dead as well. For a fearless and selfless warrior, it’s the ultimate sacrifice. But Bingmei is about to discover that even in death, the greatest sacrifices are yet to come.

    1. I feel like I rarely get to do that, so I am very excited. Now if I could just read it at the beach, but oh, well. 🏖

  1. Right now I’m reading, A Fearsome Doubt by Charles Todd. It’s an Ian Rutledge mystery. Inspector Rutledge is with Scotland Yard. I really like these mysteries. So good. I’ll also be reading, Seeing Things by Patti Hill. 🙂

  2. Living in KY, we have Derby activities with friends going on this weekend, so I may not get much reading done. Looks like you’ve got two completely different books to read, Tessa – have fun!

  3. I’m afraid it’s just a normal weekend for us here in the UK but we did have a bank holiday last week. I’m looking forward to diving into The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman which I’ve just bought. I’ve heard really good things about it.

  5. I need to read the five books I’m currently in the middle of! (Why do I keep doing that?) Otherwise I’m not allowing myself to read anything else. Enjoy your weekend 🙂
