The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Question:

What is your favorite bookish podcast? (You can list more than one!) What do you like most about it?

Answer:

Wow, simple answer – I don’t listen to any podcasts 😳. I’m not opposed to listening but I have such a short attention span when listening to anything that I don’t gravitate towards audiobooks or podcasts. I would be willing to try some out if anyone has recommendations.

Do you listen to bookish podcasts? If you do, which ones would you recommend?

    Well, that would have been my answer as well. I think I’ve listened to a couple podcasts but they just don’t turn me on, generally.

      It kind of made me curious. My husband listens to non-bookish podcasts on his way to work and back but he also likes audio books, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

        My commute is short, and in the mornings, I need classical music, so I’d get what – 10-15 minutes at best? Audio isn’t my thing, I guess.

    I’ve never listened to podcasts either, Tessa. I like the idea of it, but if I’m listening to anything, it’s books or music. Friends in my book club listen to several.

      I’ve got to travel up to Chapel Hill next weekend so I think I’ll explore some on the journey just to satisfy my curiosity.

    I don’t listen to bookish podcasts. I listen to unexplained mysteries type ones.

    ‘Unexplained’ is a great one. Each ep is only 20 mins long. I’m a bit of a podcast addict 😂

    Tessa, you are a girl after my own heart! Podcasts don’t work for me. Audiobooks don’t either. Same with videos.
    I need to read to enjoy/digest/or learn something new.

    I wonder if that has to do with the learning metric we grew up with in school (reading/writing).

      I am a visual learner, and very little auditory, so I always figured that it was related. It was always a joke at meetings because people knew I had to have any written material at the start of the meeting. ❤️

    I really enjoy listening to Writing Excuses – especially during my commute. Hosted by a handful of bestselling authors, my favorite being Brandon Sanderson, it offers incredible insights into character, plot, career, etc… 100% worth a try.

    I don’t really listen to them either tbh. Only thing I can listen to is audio books while working – I am a data capturer (kind of) so when I do the mindless work I don’t need to concentrate on to much I normally put on a book to keep my brain occupied. Maybe I should give a pod cast a go instead?

    I love What Should I Read Next by Anne Bogle. I also really love The Professional Booknerds by Overdrive. I’ve never gotten a book recommendation from either podcast that I didn’t like!
